The Sawiris Foundation for Social Development (SFSD), continuing its successful journey in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and inspired by its positive and distinctive TVET schools, is now planning to establish a new Applied Technology School specializing in construction works. 

Aligned with the framework of New Applied Technology Schools (ATS) endorsed by the Ministry of Education and Technical Education (MoETE) to reform vocational education in Egypt, this project seeks to foster a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) involving SFSD, MoETE, and Orascom Construction PLC. The partnership, in conjunction with Orascom Construction PLC, aims to integrate German Vocational Standards into the curriculum of the Technical School for Construction.

To formalize these commitments, an MOU was signed between MoETE and SFSD in February 2023, marking the establishment of the “Onsi Sawiris Applied Technology and Construction School” specializing in the construction domain.

Moreover, in collaboration with the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce – AHK in Egypt, two curriculum frameworks have been developed for Tiling and Plastering Finishing works. These frameworks have received accreditation from the MoETE. 

The school is expected to operate in Academic Year 2024/2025.
