Water is life

Providing sustainable solutions to water problems for 11,600 families in remote communities in Minya, Assiut, Sohag, and Qena, through establishing water-filtration plants/stations and water delivery vehicles (Trucks/Tricycles), as well as installing water connections. This is in addition to creating job opportunities to 54 individuals who will be managing these stations and vehicles. The project consists of three components:

Component 1: Establishing water stations in 27 villages (given these villages depend on groundwater and surface wells):

  • Establishing two water-filtration plants.
  • Measuring the production capacity and the actual capacity of 25 water-filtration plants established by “Life from Water” Foundation, and measuring how to increase the number of beneficiaries who use the plants.
  • Installing 27 smart water meters to measure water flow and quality over the course of the project.
  • Building the capacity of 27 individuals to operate these stations and carry out the necessary periodic maintenance for each village.
  • Delivering 27 vehicles for all selected water-filtration plants.
  • Conducting awareness and follow-up campaigns for 100 families from each targeted village.

Component 2: Connecting water pipes to villages that do not have water connections to the main network, which will be done for a total of 4,000 meters. This will serve 15 families for each 100 meters.

Component 3: Installing 200 water connections for households in villages that do not have household connections.
