Main Job Purpose:

Responsible for planning, managing, and delivering the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development’s (SFSD) events and cultural initiatives, ensuring professional execution, effective coordination, and high-quality on-ground delivery. The role supports the Foundation’s positioning and impact objectives through well-executed events and cultural initiatives aligned with SFSD’s mission, strategic priorities, and governance standards.

In close coordination with the PR & Communications team, the role contributes event-related content inputs and narrative structure under the leadership of the PR & Communications Director and in alignment with the Foundation’s communications framework.

Overall Accountabilities:

The position is anchored in event management and cultural programming, with responsibility for the operational and technical delivery of related events and initiatives, ensuring seamless execution and high professional standards.

 

SFSD Event Planning & Execution

  • Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of all SFSD events, as the primary responsibility of the role, including concept development, budgeting, scheduling, logistics, vendor management, and on-ground delivery
  • Oversee venues, catering, audiovisual services, transportation, guest management, and event operations.
  • Ensure events are delivered to high professional standards, within approved budgets and timelines.
  • Proactively manage risks and operational challenges to ensure smooth execution.

 

Stakeholder & Partner Engagement

  • Coordinate closely with internal sectors, external partners, implementing NGOs, cultural institutions, artists, and service providers to ensure effective event and initiative delivery
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with event management companies, cultural partners, sponsors, and suppliers.
  • Represent SFSD in relevant cultural, event, and coordination meetings in alignment with Foundation positioning.

 

Media & Visibility for Events

  • Work in close coordination with the PR & Communications team to support event-related visibility and promotion.
  • Provide content inputs, key messages, highlights, and program information for press releases, social media coverage, and promotional materials related specifically to events and cultural initiatives.
  • Ensure SFSD branding and partner visibility guidelines are applied across all event materials and on-ground activations.
  • Support media engagement related to events and cultural initiatives in coordination with the Communications team.

 

Cultural Program Design & Delivery

  • Support the implementation of cultural programming plans, in line with defined budgets and timelines
  • Identify innovative cultural programming opportunities and strategic partnerships with cultural institutions, artists, NGOs, and creative organizations to enhance reach and social impact.
  • Ensure all cultural initiatives align with SFSD’s mission, governance standards, and development objectives.

 

Operational & Budget Management

  • Prepare and manage operational documentation related to events and cultural initiatives, including TORs, contracts, internal memos, purchase requests, and payment follow-ups in coordination with Finance & Operations.
  • Track budgets, timelines, deliverables, and resource utilization for all initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with governance procedures and internal policies.
  • Support strategic priorities related to events and cultural initiatives as required by the PR & Communications Director.

 

Impact Measurement & Reporting

  • Develop simple impact and engagement measurement tools for events and cultural initiatives (attendance data, partner feedback, participant surveys, media reach, and engagement metrics).
  • Prepare post-event reports capturing outcomes, lessons learned, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Monitor reach and effectiveness of events and cultural initiatives to support continuous improvement.
  • Provide regular progress and impact reports to the PR & Communications Director and Executive Management.

 

Networking and External Representation

  • Build and sustain strategic relationships with event management firms, cultural institutions, marketing agencies, and communication partners to strengthen the quality and impact of SFSD’s events, while supporting the development of cultural initiatives
  • Represent the events & cultural initiatives function in conferences, forums, launches, and coordination meetings with partners and stakeholders, in close alignment with the PR & Communications Director and the Foundation’s strategic positioning.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Media Practice, Marketing, Business Administration, Literature, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree (MA or MBA) in a relevant discipline is considered an added advantage.

Required Experience:

  • 7–10 years of relevant experience in event management, with exposure to cultural initiatives, project coordination, or related fields.
  • Experience within the non-profit, cultural, or development sector is considered an asset.

Professional Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience using planning, scheduling, and project coordination tools to manage events and initiatives
  • Strong capability in budget monitoring and reporting tools
  • Working knowledge of digital platforms for event promotion and performance tracking
  • Ability to analyze basic engagement and feedback data to support impact reporting

Language Skills:

  • Arabic and English proficiency.
  • Proven ability to work professionally with bilingual content, including the review and preparation of event-related materials in both Arabic and English.
