The Education Sector aims to enable 46,000 youth (among the poor and extremely poor) aged 2-22 towards better learning outcomes by 2028. Access to education is at the core of multidimensional poverty and encompasses an entire dimension in the index, demonstrating how interdependent education is with poverty. With low-quality education, children are at a disadvantage from the start of their lives, whereby they miss key opportunities to improve their socioeconomic status, their income, and their access to information and employment opportunities. Therefore, Sawiris Foundation works on pre-primary, basic education as well as technical and vocational education levels. Interventions vary from enabling learning inputs to raising awareness on the importance of TVET and pre-primary education, as well as the provision of need-based scholarships.
