• The applicant must be of Egyptian nationality.
• The work must be in Arabic, original (not translated or adapted), and must target children up to 12 years old.
• The submitted work must be a first edition, whether published inside or outside Egypt, and must have an International Standard Book Number (ISBN) issued between 2021 and 2023.
• The illustrator’s name and details (phone number, address, email, and a copy of their ID card) must be included in the application form.
• The submitted work must not have received any other Egyptian, Arab, or international award.
• Each author may submit only one work, limited to one category of the award branches.
• The applicant may not submit the same work to another competition during the same period.
• The author confirms that the submitted work is original and not generated by artificial intelligence. Submitted works will be checked using specialized software to verify their originality.
• Nominations are accepted from individuals as well as cultural institutions, universities, and organizations.
• The specialized committees reserve the right to withhold or withdraw the award in any of its branches without giving reasons, even after it has been granted.
• In case of winning a highly distinguished work, the Board of Trustees of the award may decide to translate the work into other languages.
• The publishing house that wins the most awards will be honored and receive an appreciation certificate at the annual Sawiris Cultural Award ceremony.
• There is no specific age requirement for applicants.

How to Apply for the 20th Edition:

• Those interested in applying for the competition should complete the electronic application form and attach all required documents.
• Submit 5 copies of the submitted work to any branch of the award.
• Personally deliver the copies and the signed form, or send them by mail, to the Sawiris Foundation at the following address: 10 Diwan Street, off Nile Corniche, Garden City, Cairo. Daily from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, except Fridays, Saturdays, and official holidays.
