Main Job Purpose:

The Data Analyst – Monitoring Unit will support the organization’s data-driven decision-making by participating in collecting, analyzing, and reporting on key programmatic data. The role focuses on strengthening the organization’s monitoring systems and enabling the Monitoring & Insights Manager and program teams to track performance, measure results, and identify areas for improvement through high-quality data analysis and visualization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Management & Quality Assurance;
  • Design and maintain databases and monitoring tools to capture key program indicators.
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and reliability of data collected from various sources.
  • Conduct regular data cleaning, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Create and continuously improve secure data infrastructure to support monitoring and evaluation activities.
  • Participating in producing a data dictionary and documentation for internal use.

 

  1. Data Analysis & Reporting;
  • Analyze programmatic data to track key performance indicators and project milestones.
  • Prepare timely analytical reports and dashboards to inform internal stakeholders.
  • Support the development of data reports for strategic reviews, donor reporting, and board updates.

 

  1. Visualization & Communication;
  • Design and maintain user-friendly dashboards and visual tools using Power BI, Excel, or Tableau.
  • Summarize complex data in accessible formats for use by non-technical audiences.
  • Present findings and trends to program teams and senior management.

 

  1. Monitoring System Support;
  • Assist the Monitoring & Insights Manager in refining data collection frameworks, tools, and results framework.
  • Ensure alignment of data with program objectives and organizational strategy.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of monitoring processes and systems.

 

  1. Collaboration & Capacity Building;
  • Work closely with program teams to support their data needs and improve data use in decision-making.
  • Conduct training sessions and technical support for staff on data-related tools and dashboards.
  • Contribute in training sessions and technical support for partner NGOs on data-related tools and dashboards.
  • Promote a culture of data accuracy, transparency, and accountability.
  • Abide by other needs asked by the manager.

Position Relationship with Other Parties:

Internal Relationships: All sectors.
External Relationships: Local NGOs-Service Providers.

Out of Office: 30 %

Days off: Friday & Saturday
Working Hours: 9 am to 5 pm

Position Dimensions:

  • Level of Authority: Minor, based on list of choices, these decisions are based on standard rules and procedures
  • Financial Control: Petty Cash/ purchase requisition within limited budget
  • Annual Sector Budget: NA
  • Hiring Authority & Promotion: Does not Coach New Employees – No Supervision at all – Not Involved in the Employees Performance- Does not interfere in the hiring process.

Required Education:

Bachelor degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Public Policy, or a related field.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) or within development/non-profit organizations.
  • Proficient in Excel and at least one data visualization or analytics tool (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SPSS, or Python).
  • Experience working with monitoring systems and performance indicators.

 

Familiarity with theories of change, results framework, and M&E frameworks is a strong asset.

Computer Skills:

  • MS Office, STATA- Survey CTO, Tableau and BI tools.
  • Knowledge of Management information systems.

Required Languages:

  • Arabic and English proficiency.
