Main Job Purpose:

The senior accountant should be equipped to handle financial data, including the process of collecting, managing, and analyzing the data. This is in order to organize information for the Foundation’s management on financial performance, liquidity, and cash flows.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation and compilation of the Foundation’s financial statements.
  • Support the process of setting the Foundation’s annual budget.
  • Support the financial processes related to scholarships funded by the Foundation.
  • Track all accounting procedures and ensure compliance with the Foundation’s financial policies and regulations.
  • Develop accounting operations, cheques, and monthly bank transfers.
  • Applying and Monitoring on SFSD internal policies accredited by the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
  • Handling the Foundation’s scholarships’ programs budget, approvals, contracting, and clearances, with the ministry, the students, and the educational institutions.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports.
  • Prepare cash flow reporting and forecasting.
  • Participate in monitoring the foundation’s bank accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Participate in monitoring the financial report for the El-Gouna Hotel School - GHS.
  • Support the process of annual auditing conducted by the KPMG office.
  • Support the Foundation’s sectors to understand and adhere to financial policies and procedures.
  • Regularly review the books required by the ministry after the accountant prepares them.
  • Other tasks requested by the Finance Director.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Conduct annual vs budget comparison, monitor and report any variances on regular basis.
  • Prepare and submit the annual financial statements with the related supplementary reports to the finance director for review and approval.

Collaborate with other sectors:

  • Work closely and collaboratively with internal colleagues and partners to implement financial standards.

Networking and Communication:

  • Initiate, establish and maintain effective relationships with key program stakeholders (e.g. banks, partners, Ministries, ect….).
  • Liaise with financial institutions, lawyers, external auditors and regulatory bodies on a regular basis to keep track of any updates and highlights the foundation should adhere.

Position Relationship with Other Parties:

  • Internal Relationships: All sectors.
  • External Relationships: Banks - Tax institution - KPMG - Ministry of Solidarity - International partners.

  • In Office: 90%
  • Out of Office: 10%
  • Working Days: 5
  • Days off: Friday & Saturday
  • Working Hours: 8 Hours Daily
  • Work Hazard: Normal

Position Dimensions:

  • Level of Authority: Minor, based on list of choices, these decisions are based on standar rules and procedures.
  • Financial Control: Petty Cash/ purchase requisition within limited budget.
  • Annual Sector Budget: NA.
  • Hiring Authority & Promotion: Does Not Coach New Employees - No Supervision at all - Not Involved in the Employees Performance Appraisal - Does Not Interfere in the Hiring Process.

Job Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance.

Experience

  • 6-8 years of experience.

Computer Skills

Advanced computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with advanced accounting software.

Languages

  • Arabic and English proficiency.
