Sawiris Foundation for Social Development (SFSD) participates as a member of the International Advisory Committee to the Civil 20 (C20) in the Kick off meetings that are held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Civil 20 aims to bring recommendations of global civil society to the G20 leaders.
Sawiris foundation is involved in our capacity as Chairperson of the board of directors of the Arab Foundations Forum to ensure that the voice of Arab foundations and NGOs from across the region is heard and to bring forward key recommendations from civil society to the #G20.
Princess Nouf Bint Mohammed opened the C20 kick off meeting today as Chair of the C20 and CEO of King Khalid Foundation. The kickoff meeting was also attended by the Saudi Minister of State, Dr Fahad AlMubarak, as the G20 Sherpa, who welcomed the C20, and shared the priorities of the #G20 for the year. It was also attended by the deputy Minister of Finance who spoke about financing for development and about the priorities of the G20 Finance track and their overlap with the C20 working groups. A key role of the #C20 is to take the voices of civil society to G20 decision makers. At today’s kick-off meeting, the C20 called upon G20 Sherpa, Dr. Fahad Almubarak, for full access and participation in the #G20 process. #C20.
