The Opening of the Bedouin Village in Taba
SFSD, in collaboration with Orascom Development Holding, celebrated the inauguration of the Bedouin village in Taba, on Saturday October 29th, in the presence of Mr. Khaled Fouda, the governor of South Sinai, Dr. Manal Hussein, Chairwoman of Orascom Hotels and Development. The event also attended by the beneficiaries of the projects from the Bedouin tribes and their leaders.
This development project is designed to settle the Bedouins into developed areas, to give them steady livelihoods and to help them live within integrated communities. The village is established on 345 thousand square meters of land, donated by the South Sinai governorate to SFSD, which carried out all the construction work and infrastructure, in cooperation with Orascom Development Holding, with a fund of 55 million pounds.
The event included an opening speech by south Sinai governor and Dr. Manal Hussien, followed by the delivery of 200 housing units and 60 commercial shops for the beneficiaries. The village includes also all necessary facilities: school, mosque, youth sports centre and the healthcare unit.
