Sawiris Foundation for Social Development is seeking Media & Communications Assistant
REPORT TO: Senior Media & Communications Officer
WORKING HOURS /WEEK: 39.5
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Media & Communications Officer, the Communication Assistant will be expected to be involved in a variety of communications projects, primarily focusing on social media, videos, web and publications production support.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the SFSD Communications Unit in the following tasks:
Update SFSD social media channels (Face book, Twitter, You Tube, etc..) on daily basis with relevant material, highlighting key events and achievements.
Generate posts that can identify and create conversations around issues related to SFSD mandate and engage followers in a dynamic, interactive and meaningful way in order to humanizing SFSD’S voice.
Monitor latest trends in social media and identify relevant and influential blogs/social media sites and connect with them when appropriate on behalf of SFSD.
Produce timely, accurate reports on social media outcomes to the senior management when requested.
Proof-reading transcripts of audio and video content, and adding these videos to SFSD website and social media channels.
Assist with the preparation and production of communication materials, including brochures, newsletters, publications & other collateral material as needed.
Manage SFSD in- house and simple designs to produce visuals and info graphics for use in publications and online material.
Develop contracts with PR companies, designers, printers, and other external suppliers, and manage related financial work.
Assist in conducting of any campaigns and events the SFSD Communications Unit undertake.
Help increase the numbers of people who access the SFSD website by supporting the monitoring and evaluation of our digital activity, using Google analytics and other tools.
Assist in planning and researching new ways to raise the digital profile of SFSD.
Keep up-to-date electronic format of publications & photos archives according to themes and categories. Provide timely support to staff in accessing needed information from these archives.
Build and maintain effective internal communications across all offices.
Assist the Communications Unit with any other duties as may be assigned.
Academic degree in communications, arts or related field.
Minimum 3 years of related work experience in communications.
Experience in managing and updating websites and social media pages.
Excellent Verbal and written skills in English and Arabic.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, editing websites, social media and photo/video editing apps.
Well organized, self-starter and able to work independently in an efficient and timely manner, but also collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and tact.
Ability to travel to target areas / provinces/ districts.
