Creating 1200 Job Opportunities for the Youth and People of Gheet Al Enab, Alexandria

To assure the quality of the training, the 3 implementing NGOs: Arab Institute of Navigation (AIN), Alexandria Association for Ho me Economics and Friends of the Environment Association, will provide the necessary training programs, in collaboration with several training entities such as: Arab Academy for Science Technology & Maritime Transport (AASTMT), International Transport Research Center (INTREC), Technology Competency Center, Doroob for Culture Association, Environmental Affairs Agency, and Alexandria Center Of Arts.


In pursuit of its mission to contribute to Egypt’s development, and to support initiatives that encourage job creation, SFSD in cooperation with Alexandria Governorate, launched "Sawiris Initiative to create Jobs for the Youth and People of Gheit El-Enab", in September 2015.

A total of 4 million EGP has been allocated by Sawiris Foundation to fund 3 training for employment projects that aim to provide 1200 job opportunities for marginalized young people – taking into account female heads of household and people with disability.

These projects will be implemented through 3 selected active NGOs with relevant work experience and capability of communicating with people in the targeted area.

The initiative, which will last for 22 months, provides young women and men with technical and vocational training programs that enable them to join the labor market in various fields including maritime, ready-made garments, handicrafts,care maintenance, etc.

An inaugural conference also will take place, on Tuesday 13 October, in Alexandria, to officially launch the projects. The conference will be held under the auspices and in the presence of Mr. Hani Al-Messeiri, Governor of Alexandria, and Ambassador Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Shaker, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development.
