This project is initiated to improve the health conditions within the community of garbage collectors in Mansheyat Naser and Mokattam, which have a population of more than 20,000 people.

The project aims to raise public awareness of Diabetes and its risk factors which would contribute to limiting the number of people with the disease in the future. The project also aims to provide medical tests for people with pre-diabetes, aged 40-60 years old, and to increase the adoption of healthier lifestyles between them, thereby reducing rates of diabetes and its complications.

Prediabetes is when blood glucose levels are higher than normal but not high enough for a diagnosis of diabetes. Prediabetes means a person is at increased risk for developing diabetes, as well as for heart disease and stroke. However, modest weight loss and moderate physical activity can help people with prediabetes delay or prevent diabetes.
