Sawiris Foundation for Social Development is seeking an ACCOUNTANT

REPORTS TO: Financial Manager



To be responsible for the accounting information and transactions including preparing journal entries, payments, maintaining accounting records & bank reconciliations, and handling accounting activities. Also, prepare monthly-end period closings and prepare financial reporting to internal & external stakeholders.


  • Understand and implement accounting & financial policies, procedures, guidelines and standards.

  • Prepare daily, monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reports and statements.

  • Prepare daily and monthly transactions and monitor monthly payments to Tax Authority and Regulatory Bodies (Income tax, Social Security, etc).Ensure that all transactions are supported with reliable documentations and posted to the system.

  • Maintain or examine the records of government agencies.

  • Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts.

  • Perform month-end reconciliations and submit financial reports as requested.

  • Document all accounting records including accounts receivable and staff advances on a daily basis and its collection as scheduled.

  • Develop, maintain and analyze budgets, prepare periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.

  • Assist the Finance& Admin Manger in analyzing business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses.

  • Prepare cash flow reporting and forecasting.

  • Participate in the staff monthly payroll preparations including tax, social security deductions and comply with the related regulatory bodies.

  • Participate in period end and year end closing of books performance.

  • Facilitate annual audit activities.

  • Ensure timely reporting to the Direct Manager as requested.

  • Perform other duties as requested within the scope of work identified.

  • Handles financial auditing responsibility of some projects (restricted or unrestricted) of special nature.


EDUCATION: BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting.

WORK EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years of experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficient computer literacy.

LANGUAGES: Arabic native-speaker. Proficiency in English language.

RELATIONAL SKILLS: Adaptable in effective relationships with both Egyptians and foreigners.
Ability to independently carry out tasks – Accuracy – communications skills – ability to work under pressure – presentable.
