The project aims at activating the role of women in society, especially women-headed households and the poor rural women, and helping them generate income by starting small and micro projects.
Four hundred beneficiaries will be provided with a training program that includes 16 training courses on key areas such as: how to do project feasibility studies, how to count profits and losses, and how to market their projects. Another 4 specialized training courses will be conducted on animal production for 100 new beneficiaries. Following the training, the 500 women will be given direct loans to start their small businesses.
The project also provides group loans (at the average of LE1000) to 1500 beneficiaries who run small and micro enterprises already in place and want to support the sustainability of their businesses.
Furthermore, the project has developed a capacity building training program for the association staff on loan arrears management, portfolio quality standards, internal control and audit, and communication skills.
