Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program
This annual program is sponsored by Orascom Construction Industries (OCI) through Sawiris Foundation. It is implemented with the American Mid-East Educational & Training Services, Inc. (AMIDEAST). Since 2001, the program has been providing full tuition scholarships for Egyptian students to pursue their master’s degree at prestigious universities in the United States such as MIT, Harvard, Stanford, and Caltech, in the fields of Business Administration and Construction Management. 72 students have been sponsored by OCI and Sawiris Foundation, so far.
The Yousriya Loza-Sawiris Scholarship Program
The Yousriya Loza-Sawiris Scholarship Program is a fully funded, full time program for students seeking to earn a Master’s Degree in Development Practice (MDP) from the Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs, University of Minnesota, USA. The Master of Development Practice is a two-year degree providing graduate level students with the skills and knowledge required to better identify and address the global challenges of sustainable development, such as poverty, population, health, conservation, climate change, and human rights.
SFSD – DAAD Scolarship Program
With the German Academic Exchange Service (Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst - DAAD). In cooperation between SFSD and the Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst – DAAD, the Scholarship program provides two full scholarships annually to outstanding graduates of the official German schools in Egypt, the Deutsche Evangelische Oberschule (DEO) Dokki, the Deutsche Schule der Borromaerinnen (DSB) Cairo, the Deutsche Schule der Borromaerinnen (DSB) Alexandria and Europa Schule in New Cairo, to pursue their studies at the German universities.
Technische Universitat Berlin (TUB) Campus El Gouna Scholarship Program
Technische Universität Berlin's new campus was officially inaugurated in El Gouna, Egypt on October 28, 2012, offering Masters degrees in energy engineering, water engineering and urban engineering development. The three specializations have been designed to qualify students in areas of vital importance for the development of Egypt and countries in the MENA region. A total of 71 students have been awarded the Sawiris Foundation Scholarship at TUBCG so far in collaboration with our generous partners: Orascom Construction Industries (OCI), SADKO for Trading & Industry, Titan Cement Egypt (TCE), Environmental Solutions (ES) and BAVARIA Egypt.
TU Berlin Campus El Gouna Scholarship Program for Syrian Refugees
Sawiris Foundation, in partnership with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) – with funds allocated by the German Federal Foreign Office – offer scholarships for registered Syrian refugees living in Egypt to study at TU Berlin Campus El Gouna in Egypt, to obtain a master’s degree in Urban Development, Water Engineering, Energy Engineering, Business Energy Engineering and Information Technology for Energy.
Don Bosco Scholarship Program
We provide scholarships for an average of 10 underprivileged students each year to attend the Instituto Salesiano Don Bosco, an Italian secondary technical institute run by Salesian monks. The institute has been a successful model because of its combination of advanced practical training and updated educational techniques. It has branches in about 130 countries and it works in Egypt under the supervision of the Italian Foreign Ministry General Directorate for Cultural Promotional and Cooperation. According to a cooperation agreement between the Egyptian and Italian governments, the graduated Don Bosc students can be admitted to Egyptian and Italian universities.
The German Hotel School in Gouna Scholarship Program
The German Hotel School Scholarship Program is a 5 year program that is funded by Sawiris Foundation in partnership with Misr El Kheir with 40% and 60% ratios of funding respectively. The program aims at providing 200 students, from Upper Egypt and border governorates, with scholarships at a rate of 40 scholarships per year starting the academic year of 2015-2016. The scholarship covers the full cost of the 3 year study program at the German Hotel School in Gouna (tuition, accommodation and living expenses).
B.Sc. in Nursing Scholarship Program
B.Sc. in Nursing Scholarship Program in collaboration with British University in Egypt (BUE) and Gouna Technical Nursing Institute (GTNI). With the aim to further enhance the health and medical services provided to the Egyptians, after foundation of the Technical Nursing Institute in Gouna, established in November 2009 Sawiris Foundation for Social Development offers the distinguished graduates of the institute the opportunity to obtain a B.Sc. in Nursing from one of the best universities; the British University in Egypt (BUE).
Special and Inclusive Education Scholarships
In 2007, the Foundation began funding a scholarship program in collaboration with the Learning Resource Center (LRC) in Cairo and the Institute of Education (IOE) of University of London, marking the first program of its kind in Egypt benefiting students towards earning an MA in Special and Inclusive Education.
